When you gaze upon the beautiful areas
of River Bend, you often wonder who has the responsibility for the mowing, weed
control, buildings and facilities maintenance. In addition is the task of
animal control responding to the complaints about wild , stray or vicious
animals, capturing and trapping animals. Issuing warnings and citations
and locating lost animals is all part of the responsibilities of Elliot Thomas of the Public Works Department. Elliot also
assists with locating, instructing and supervising various repair vendors.
The job does involve some hazards such as those working with equipment including
loud noises, moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, exposure to
chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation and oils.
Newest employee in the Public Works Department is Mike Steffa who
will be assisting Elliot.
May 2004. Utility System Operator Brandon Mills graduated from Lenoir Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Environmental Science.
